This session will explore how instructional design can support equitable learning practices by leveraging insights from the first iteration of SUNY CPD's Instructional Design Certification Program. The presenter will share data-driven insights and participant experiences to highlight effective course design options, student-centered approaches, and equitable scheduling and discussion board practices that empower all learners. The session will include a demonstration of alternative course setups, a comparison of learner participation and survey results, and reflections on how these practices can be applied across diverse educational contexts. By combining course data, learner feedback, and design strategies, attendees will gain actionable insights to create inclusive and equitable learning environments that address the varied needs of today's students.
