Careers with the IRS

The IRS is hiring! You may have heard about the recruiting efforts for the IRS in recent months; this is a great opportunity to hear about some of the areas within the agency that are hiring, the work they do and the application process. Units include:

• IRS Criminal Investigation – investigate potential criminal violations of the Internal Revenue Code and related financial crimes in a manner that fosters confidence in the tax system and compliance with the law.
• IRS Collections Department - collect taxes that are delinquent and have not been paid to the IRS and to secure tax returns that are overdue from taxpayers.
• IRS Exam Department - plan and conduct examinations of individuals (Schedule C and F) and businesses (S Corp, Partnership, C Corp), advise taxpayers of their rights in an examination and communicate audit results
