What does the future of the healthcare workforce look like—and how can we create more opportunities for people to enter, advance, and thrive in high-demand careers?
In Ask 5: Rethinking Healthcare Workforce Solutions, we explored healthcare workforce shortages, the lessons learned from strengthening Rochester’s nursing workforce, and what “talent mobility” looks like in practice for nurses and allied health professionals. We also discussed the important role of adult learners and career changers in meeting workforce needs, the skills that will become increasingly valuable as AI transforms the workplace, and where the greatest career opportunities may emerge over the next decade.
For SUNY Empire students and alumni, the message was clear: the future of work will require adaptability, continuous learning, and a willingness to recognize where your skills can take you next.
