Digital classroom materials are ubiquitous across higher education classrooms. Faculty are regularly using digital versions of textbooks, homework, quizzes and more, and the levels of use are high even for fully in-person courses. This presentation will review results from our April 2024 national survey of higher education faculty on digital material adoption and digital perceptions. Faculty were asked about their use of digital course materials, opinions on incoming student technological preparedness, and general preferences around digital vs. print materials. Factors that influence the results will be discussed, including modality of course (in-person vs. remote), OER awareness, and course details (level and discipline). Bay View Analytics has been tracking the awareness and adoption of Open Educational Resources in higher education since 2009. Supported by the William and Flora Hewlett Foundation, the project has also examined the changing factors driving digital adoption and OER awareness. All reports use responses from nationally representative samples of higher education faculty members from all fifty states. In total, our results incorporate answers over 27,000 respondents across 11 surveys.
