Community Conversation “Cybersecurity Security for Everyone”

Join us for a special Community Conversation titled “Cybersecurity: Security for Everyone.” The panel discussion commemorates Cybersecurity Awareness Month in October and will explore the impact and importance of cybersecurity at work and in the home. 

The presenters are:

• Nitin Natarajan ‘04, deputy director of the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency, a component of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, who will speak about the cybersecurity industry
• Todd Myles, information security officer for Empire State University, who will discuss the institutional impact of cybersecurity
• Andrew Hurd, Ph.D., assistant professor of MSIT and M.S. cybersecurity programs at SUNY Empire, who will address the academic study of cybersecurity

The panel will be moderated by Cathryn Thurston, Ph.D., associate chair for SUNY Empire’s Department of Public Affairs, and lead for the university’s security studies program. She spent 25 years working in national security for government, industry, and academia.  A Q&A will follow the panel presentations.
